***Further information***
After all the excitement of the Royal Wedding, the people of Leeds may start to wonder if they have begun to imagine brides everywhere as the UK Wedding Photographers 2011 Bridal Shoot takes place in Leeds on Friday 13thand Saturday 14thMay.
Organiser Paula Brown, of Leeds based Ollievision Photography, explains, “One of the benefits of hiring a professional wedding photographer is that we keep ourselves up to date with regular training and plenty of practice. We know how to get good results in low light at fast paced events. The Leeds Bridal Shoot is a time for photographers to meet and practice new techniques, new poses and test equipment that may be new to themselves or the UK market. Wedding photographers from across England will be travelling to Leeds for the shoot.”
“In the case of the Leeds Bridal Shoot, it’s also about Yorkshire businesses coming together to help each other and promote Leeds as a wedding destination. We have some fabulous wedding and reception venues in and around this city and we are very fortunate to be able to showcase some of the finest during this shoot. These include Adel St John the Baptist Church; St Peter’s (Leeds Parish Church); Haley’s Hotel in Headingley and Brasserie 44 Restaurant.”
“Our brides will be wearing some of the most glamorous bridal wear available. One of our local business partners is Michael Perry Bridal of Baildon who are loaning us their exclusive dresses by Jason Jennings, an award winning designer at Veromia Bridal Couture. Perry Bridal will also be supplying tiaras and veils by Emmerling to go with a stunning range of silver jewellery from The Silver Jewellery Store of Bradford. Teazles Florist in Birstall will be creating beautiful bouquets which will be held by over a dozen brides over the course of the two day event. Not to be left out, our charming grooms will be well dressed in their suits from Alan Lund of Halifax.”
The beautiful brides may be spotted in and around the area of Haley’s Hotel in Headingley on Friday morning and then will move to various locations around Adel. “Haley’s was my first choice of hotel for the Leeds Shoot. I grew up in Headingley and it’s long been held in high regard by local residents. I photographed a wedding at Haley’s sister hotel, The Corn Mill Lodge, last year and was most impressed with the caring, personal service provided by Mr Jowett and his staff.”
“Adel St John the Baptist Church was built in 1150 and is Leeds’ oldest building. It’s a fabulous location and has recently been the subject of heightened public interest due to the new Duchess of Cambridge having family links there.”
On Saturday, the city centre office of Leeds architects, Architecture 2b, will be full of brides and dresses as they are made up ready to move to exclusive waterside restaurant, Brasserie 44. “The waterside terrace is used for wedding receptions and is a delightful spot on a summer’s evening.”
Leeds Parish Church, St Peter’s, is an historic gem that many people who live in the city have never even entered. It’s at the heart of Leeds, in The Calls, and seats well over 1000 people – enough for even the largest wedding!
