Wedding at Roundhay Methodist Church with reception at The Queen's Hotel, Leeds, Yorkshire

It was a relief to get dry weather for Sarah & Nico's wedding at Roundhay Methodist Church as gale force winds and lashing rain had been forecast.  I had my brolly at the ready as did Sarah!

After the ceremony, led by minister John McNeill, the guests enjoyed a mini-reception of tea and cup cakes.  Sarah had collected many vintage teacups in the months leading up to the wedding and these were used along with the largest collection of cake stands I have ever seen.  The hall attached to the church resembled a Guinness World Record attempt for the largest collection of cup cakes ever in one place!  Of course, it would have been rude if Jitesh and myself hadn't sampled the odd one (or several in Jitesh's case!)

The church had been packed full, with people having to stand along the back aisle as so many of Sarah & Nico's friends, family and church had wanted to share their special day.  The generosity of their friends was evident right through the whole day - from the home baked cup cakes to the confetti which had been made from thousands of real rose petals donated by the residents of Otley, Sarah's home town, just North of Leeds.

The wedding reception at The Queen's Hotel was a delicious hot buffet followed by a barn dance late into the evening.

Many thanks to Sarah & Nico for choosing me as their photographer - good luck to you both for a very happy marriage.

Thanks to Peter French for being my photography usher and to my assistant photographer, Jitesh Mistry.
