Sharon and Paul married at Chevin Lodge Hotel in Otley, Yorkshire. What an exciting wedding day it was! I thought maybe the ambulances were some kind of joke... but we had all the emergency services out at some point during the day! The hotel refused to close after a chlorine gas leak at the swimming pool, so an ambulance & fire service staff remained there on standby. Paul was determined that their wedding would go ahead so Chevin Lodge stayed open rather than face the wrath of a disappointed bride & groom! Sharon was already in her dress before she discovered what was going on.
Paul, a local farmer, had transported his favourite tractors to the hotel and Sharon became possibly the first bride ever to have her wedding vows include promises "to service my tractor"! The wedding cake continued the farming theme, along with sheep named tables and sheep place cards.
The evening entertainment included a firework display that thrilled the guests.
